Manhattan Funeral Home Resource Guide

Losing a loved one is never an easy time. If you have family of friends from out of town coming for the service, navigating around Manhattan and finding accommodations and restaurants can be a daunting task. Fortunately, our Manhattan Funeral Home Resource Guide is here to help educate you about the business and services located around our funeral home in Manhattan New York.

Funeral Planning Checklist

Planning a funeral is no doubt- one of the most difficult and overwhelming things to plan, especially when grief is upon you. Here are 6 basic steps in the process of planning a funeral. Contact Provenzano Lanza, and we will help you from start to finish.

When your loved one passes, it is most common for a viewing and a funeral to be held just days after. It can be overwhelmng and stressful that's why we urge you to call us immediately so we can help you from start to finish.

It is not an immediate responsibility, but you will need to visit your local cemeteries to find the final resting place for your loved one if you do not already have one. You will also need to arrange a burial ceremony if you choose to have one.

Whether you have chosen to do a viewing with a funeral with a burial service or a viewing with a funeral and cremation, you will need to choose how your friends and family will say their goodbyes by choosing an urn, casket or even memorial jewelry for after the ceremony.

Some of your friends and family may be coming from out of town to pay their respects and say their final goodbyes. Some will need to make day to day arrangements to be present for the service, so contacting them as soon as you can is a good idea.

Friends and family members may want to say a few words and share experiences about your loved one. Sometimes they will be direct in telling you they would like to speak, other times you may have to extend the invitation.

If you have chosen a graveside burial service, transportation will be involved and needs to be arranged. There are options regarding transportation such as a family car, a flower car and, of course, the hearse.

No matter where you choose to have your loved one buried, our staff is happy to work with the cemetery to ensure we give your loved one a proper goodbye. Below are a few of the cemeteries located nearby our funeral home in Manhattan.
